Too Slow?JVM's inside browsers often perform less well than
OS-level VM's.
Run the benchmark in your JDK (or JRE) VM by copying
this line to a terminal window:
appletviewer http://math.nist.gov/scimark2/run.html
Instructions
- Click the Execute Benchmark button above. The test should
take a few minutes. It is best to keep your mouse and keyboard idle
during this time.
- Your composite score should appear in red, labeled "Your Computer".
- Pull down the top menu bar (marked "SciMark") and you can see
results for individual components of the benchark. Or, you can
choose the "Show Table" to see summary results.
- If your platform is not in our
database, consider
submitting the results.
(See our privacy policy)
Because the performance of JVM and JITs on different platforms vary
greatly, each experiment is customized to take a minimum of a few seconds
on your machine. (The experiment is automatically repeated to ensure that
measurements are significantly larger than the clock granularity.)
We collect names and e-mail address of benchmark submissions in order to
give credit to your efforts, and so that we may contact you if we have
further questions about how a measurement was carried out.

Privacy Policy.

Commercial equipment and software is referred to on
these pages in order to precisely document experimental measurements. Mention
