This chapter discusses the function and operation of PVMmake , the utility that mediates all communications made by PADE between the development host and other nodes of the virtual machine. The actions of PVMmake usually take place without the need for attention by the user. However, if there is a problem during the file-transfer or command-execution operations performed by PVMmake , an understanding of the (very simple) PVMmake command syntax is essential for determining the problem.
