AIRFOIL: Transient Stability Analysis of a Navier-Stokes Solver

from the NEP Collection

Set AIRFOIL
Source: A. Mahajan, NASA Lewis Research Center
Discipline: Computational fluid dynamics

This test matrix is from transient stability analysis of Navier-Stokes solvers. The order of the test matrix is 23560. The eigenvalues and eigenvectors are associated with small perturbation analysis of a finite difference representation of the Navier-Stokes equations for flows over airfoils. Such eigensystem information is central to stability analysis of Navier-Stokes solvers, for determining the modal behavior of fluid in a fluid-structure interaction problem and for development of reduced order models based on variational principals for Navier-Stokes solvers. A representative eigenvalue constellation is reported in the reference, where the Lanczos procedure with no rebiorthogonalization is used. The number of Lanczos iterations required for convergence was between 1000 to 1200.
