Computational discovery will be viewed as the result of the theoretical model-based abduction when performed exploiting the visual, diagrammatic, and simulative knowledge resources. The programs are capable of performing model-based abductions: for example by providing causal and analogical reasoning.
Moreover, manipulative abduction will show how we can explain the role in scientific discovery of manipulating external object (experimental apparatus).
