Research Interests

• Digital Library of Mathematical Functions, a major new Web resource providing validated reference information on the special functions of applied mathematics and mathematical physics that is intended as a replacement for the venerable Abramowitz and Stegun Handbook of Mathematical Functions.
• Approaches, methods, and tools for mathematics on the Web, with emphasis on semantic representation, math-aware search, interactive visualization, and live generation of mathematical data.
• Theory, application, and computation of special functions, with emphasis on construction and testing of numerical software.
• Level-index computer arithmetic, an overflow-free alternative to floating-point arithmetic that possesses theoretical and practical advantages.
