ELECTRONIC PRODUCTS AND RESOURCES

The division provides a variety of electronic products and resources. The following are recent examples. Others may be found on the division Web page.

Matrix Market

The Matrix Market is a repository of test data for use in comparative studies of algorithms and software for numerical linear algebra. It features some 500 larges sparse matrices from a variety of applications as well as matrix generation tools and services. Visualizations of matrix properties such as sparsity structure and spectral stability are provided, as well as tools to search for matrices based on mathematical properties.

Guide to Available Mathematical Software

The NIST The Guide to Available Mathematical Software (GAMS) is a cross-index and virtual repository of mathematical and statistical software components useful in computational science research. GAMS indexes more than 10,000 such components from some 110 software libraries and packages. These are components which have been either developed at NIST, selected for use at NIST, or archived at netlib, the premier external repository of the numerical analysis community. Users can search for software by name, by keyword, or by utilizing a tree-structured classification system. Both hypertext and Java interfaces are available.

GPTRAN

Brad Alpert released GPTRAN, software for antenna near-field to far-field transformation for measurements at nonideal locations. GPTRAN, which includes a Windows interface for demonstrating the software capabilities, has been distributed to its first few commercial customers.
