LAUCHLI: an example of the dangers of forming ATA

from the MMDELI

Matrix Generator LAUCHLI
Source: P. Lauchli
Discipline: numerical linear algebra
Language: Java applet
Output format: Matrix Market format

This is a Java applet which generates the (N+1)-by-N matrix whose first row is all 1s, and whose first lower diagonal contains all MUs. It is a well-known example in least squares and other problems that indicates the dangers of forming ATA.

This generator was developed by Bruce Miller of NIST based on Nick Higham's Test Matrix Toolbox for MATLAB.
